CDC 16: Gavroche by Prinzessinumi CDC 16: Gavroche by Prinzessinumi

Erik pertenece a Leroux y Webber.
Jareth pertenece a Henson, Lucas, y Bowie.
Norrington pertenece a Disney y Bruckheimer
Javert y Gavroche pertenecen a Hugo, Boublil, Schonberg, y Kretzmer.
Aziraphale y Crowley pertenecen a Gaiman y Prachett.
Roommates belongs to :iconasherhyder:

Aquí nada es mío más que los textos en español.

Now. this (Gavroche's dialog) was something I lost in my translation because the Hungarian "adaptation" of the musical is so goddamn loose. (Most are but Les Miserables is especially "bad", it rearranges songs, has lyrics with almost no connection with the original etc.)

Aahh yeah, they do that here too, sometimes it's hard to translate a song without making it lose the escense of the original x.x

Yeah. But sometimes they go ridiculous lengths. OK. This is from GND and The Phantom of the Opera [link] (and the same parts of the same song):

English:
"You will curse the day you did not do all that the phantom asked of you..."

Hungarian:
"Míg élsz bosszúm elkísér, szenvedj ezt kívánom én..."

Hungarian translated back to English:
"My revenge will follow you until you die, your suffering is my wish..."

And would you believe that the Phantom actually has a fairly faithful Hungarian lyrics adaptation as far as musicals go? (The songs are where they supposed to be, no plot points lost or rewritten etc..)

This is the norm here for stage musicals at least... and I also noticed that the works of Webber get more faithful lyric adaptations than the others.

Movie musicals are different. Those tend to fall on the other extreme (so literal it looses meaning) as they are mostly subbed and not many localization company pays for good subs.

Like someone thought "Underground" (as the opening song of Labyrinth) "must" be the synonym of "subway".
